Ryle is rightly noted for the marvelous simplicity of his style and many have tried, so far in vain, to emulate his style of writing, for it was not him as a man writing, but it was Jesus doing it through him.
To be simple, plain and direct without being superficial, formal and offensive is not as easy as some would think, yet Ryle achieved this consistently and effectively, in most if not all of his tracts.
